Green Lagoon Houseboats
Before modern times, Kerala Houseboats were used to transport agricultural goods and other heavy load from isolated villages to the main town. Nowadays they became a tourist attraction for holiday cruises as an outmost pleasurable way to explore the beauties of the backwaters. A traditional houseboat is made totally out of natural materials like wood, bamboo fiber, palm leaves, coir material and ropes. In average a houseboat measures about 25 m in length and 5 m in width.
You may take a boat cruise, relax in comfortable atmosphere and glide along the enchanting rivulets, canals, passing by lush green islands with palm trees and rice fields. Enjoy the beautiful nature and watch the everyday life of the villagers. While you may spot water lilies, colorful butterflies, kingfisher birds and eagles, our boat kitchen chef will pamper you with delicious culinary compositions from the Kerala kitchen.
We offer 3 different categories of Houseboats:
Luxury:
This category provides a fully air-conditioned houseboat and the air condition is on throughout the cruise. The interior design is of luxurious style, bathroom with tube. The cruise includes welcome drink, fruit basket, snacks, lunch, tea snacks, dinner and breakfast.
Premium:
In this category air condition will be provided in the lounge, dining room and bedroom during the whole cruise. It includes welcome drink, fruit basket, lunch, evening tea snack, dinner and breakfast.
Deluxe:
In this category the air condition will be operating between 9 pm and 6 am only. It includes lunch, evening tea snacks, dinner and breakfast.
Types of House Boat Cruises
Overnight Cruise
You may check in at 11.30 am. The cruise is going through the world of palm tree dotted islands, small canals and local villages. The full meals will be severed on board. You can choose vegetarian diet or non veg. dish upon your taste. (It has to be confirmed before check in) At 5.30 pm the boat is docking at shore for the night stay. Next morning 9.00 am you may check out after the breakfast.
Honeymoon Cruise
Your Houseboat will be decorated in a romantic style with a flower bed arrangement. You will be welcomed with a cake and evening a candlelight dinner is arranged for you.
Day cruise
You check in at 11.00 am. Your boat will cruise until evening 5.30 pm. This mode includes a welcome drink, lunch and tea snacks afternoon.
Other arrangements
According to our guests wish we can arrange all festivals and anniversaries like birthday celebrations, conference tour and business meetings. Feel free to contact us with your ideas and we will blend a costumed cruise for you to suite all your special needs.
